Open call for

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “PROSPECTS FOR RESEARCH IN THE AREA OF EXTERNAL ACTIONS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION”
22-23 October 2019 in Poznan

Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Adam Mickiewicz University

This is an open call for the conference that aims to facilitate network as well as to support research endeavors of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism at Adam Mickiewicz University. The goal of the conference is to provide a platform for the exchange of opinions and views and for the presentation of research on the EU external activities, with emphasis on the EU Global Strategy 2016 in the field of foreign policy and security.

We would like to kindly invite scholars and experts of EU foreign affairs to participate in this event. The main focus of this conference will be to present the latest research on external activities of the EU and challenges faced by European countries with respect to the EU foreign policy. The possible topics covered during the conference may include:

  • An impact of institutional changes in the EU on the shape of its external relations.
  • Internal and external determinants of the EU’s external activities.
  • Implementation of the EU Global Strategy.
  • The future directions and priorities of the EU foreign affairs
  • Brexit
  • Poland’s approach towards reforms proposed in the field of the EU’s external activities.

Please apply with a title and a short abstract (max. 500 words) of your presentation, which can be submitted here.  The program will be finalized by the end of September 2019. Please note that the conference is not paper-based however after the conference we welcome paper submissions to the journals of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, AMU, such as Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej (Yearbook of European Integration), Studia Środkowoeuropejskie (Central European Political Studies), Przegląd Politologiczny (Political Science Review), Przegląd Strategiczny (Strategic Review).

The deadline for registration is September 28, 2019.
