On March 4-11, Joanna Skrzypczyńska, PhD made a study visit to the European Union Center at the University of Miami, Florida, USA. During it, she met with the director of the Center, prof. Joaquín’em Roy (Jean Monnet Chair Director, European Union Center). She also participated in a lecture on Russian foreign policy, given on March 8 this year by Dr. Dina Moulioukova from the University of Miami.
J. Skrzypczyńska met, among others, with Ieva Mainardi, an employee of the European Parliament staying at the Center, as an EU Fellow. She also used the resources of the Center’s library (several books published by the Center were transferred to the library of the Faculty of Political Sciences and Journalism of Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland).
She also gave a guest lecture at the Center of the European Union. The lecture was devoted to the current topic of EU sanctions in the context of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The University of Miami, as part of the Florida International partnership, known as Miami-Florida European International, has had the European Union Center of Excellence since 2000. It is one of ten centers in the USA awarded by the European Commission. Thanks to appropriately selected curricula and academic classes, the center educates university students in the law of the European Union and its institutions.
